Rhodochiton atrosanguinea is more commonly known as Purple Bell Vine. Purple Bell Vine features pink to purple flowers with a dark purple bell coming from the flower. It's a very showy and beautiful vine that can grow as long as 10 feet. This plant makes a wonderful trellis plant, and it's great for hanging baskets. They grow quickly and flower the first year.
Place seeds in individual peat pots about a month before your outdoor temperatures will average 65 degrees. The pots will need a place where they will get sun, or you can use grow lights. Keep the temperature around the pots at approximately 70 degrees and the soil moist. Seed will germinate in 14 to 40 days.
Prepare soil. For containers, mix one part compost, one part builder's sand and two parts peat moss and fill the container to an inch to two inches below the rim, depending on the size of your container. Plant the seeds in the peat pots directly into your prepared soil.
