The lavender/rose-pink orchid-like flowers are five-petaled, of which the upper three are veined with deep purple-red. Brown seed pods will follow the spring through fall bloom. Once established this vine is tolerant to frost and drought, but looks better if given regular watering.
This Bauhinia is very low maintenance, hardy and non invasive

Germination: 14-30 days
The propagating media should be free draining but also retain moisture. A commercial seed raising mix is suited. Soil should be maintained at between 25 and 30°C, which is the optimum range for germinating Bauhinia seed for best and quickest results.
The propagating area should be well ventilated, as an adequate oxygen supply is important in triggering reactions within the seeds to stimulate germination.
The mix must be kept moist but not wet at all times during the germination process.
