Bright, the cheerful flowers of this easily-grown annual are produced for months in summer and are a magnet for pollinating insects.
Corn Marigold it is not a true native, but was probably introduced in ancient times with grain. Its original home is probably western Asia and the Mediterranean. It has been found in Scottish neolithic deposits and so probably arrived with the neolithic introduction of agriculture.
Sow seeds in full sun in tilled average soil. As with all wildflowers sow them directly in area which was cleared of weeds and raked. The best sowing time for meadow is from early spring till autumn. Make sure that the soil is kept nice and moist for first few weeks especially.
