Centaurea, Cornflower 'Romantic Mix' -70 Seeds Deep Scarlet
A beautiful blend of colours whose colour doesn't fade. Ideal for grouping in beds and borders. Centaurea are one of those gardening plants that are good to have in any planting arrangement. They perform well and not only give colour to most planting schemes but also give texture and structure as well. They make excellent cut flowers.
Site: They prefer full sun, they thrive in it!
Soil: Any free-draining soil.
Germination: Clear the planting location of all weeds, grass and rocks. Loosen the soil to a depth of 4 to 6 inches using a garden fork. Sow the seeds and cover with 1/8 inch of soil. Water carefully to avoid covering the seeds too deeply. Continue to add moisture anytime the top of the soil is dry. Thin the seedlings, leaving a distance of 12 to 14 inches between each plant, after they have developed four to six leaves. Clip the flowers off as they fade to encourage a longer bloom cycle. Easy to grow from seed sown any time from August to late April.
