Cactus Mixed 30 Seeds
These fun to grow desert type cacti may be grown outside in frost-free zones or as inside potted specimens in colder climates. Since seeds are selected at random, there is simply no way to know which varieties are included. However, since each packet has 30 seeds, you can expect a good variation. These odd and interesting desert plants are usually spiny and leafless and produce massive round, cylindrical flat or angular growth which performs the functions of stem, branch and leaves alike.
How to grow
Growing cacti from seed can be rewarding, but requires a lot of patience as the seeds often take some time to germinate. Once mature, cactus will bloom once a year under the proper conditions, producing some of the most colorful blooms.
The cactus germination need bright, non-direct sun, 13 to 14 hours a day, full sun once established. Using loam type, well-draining cactus soil with added sand or perlite, covering seeds lightly. Germination temperature is 21 to 30 degrees Celsius (70 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit). The seed germinate irregularly over a period of 4 to 12 weeks so patience must be exercised to obtain successful results.
Keep soil lightly moist during germination and for the first few months afterward. Avoid humid conditions after germination. Once the cacti have reached a few months, they can gradually be adjusted to drier conditions. Cactus are often thought to not require much water, however, with well-draining soil, they should receive plentiful amounts of water when they are watered. The soil should be allowed to dry out completely between watering (do not allow seedlings to dry out).
